At the Gananoque & District Humane Society, we care for cats who have been abandoned, surrendered, or found as strays while they wait for their forever homes. Foster homes give these cats the chance to experience the comfort, care, and routine of a home environment while they prepare for adoption.

Fostering can be especially important for kittens, shy or stressed cats, cats waiting for or recovering from medical treatment, and those who simply need a little extra time and attention before finding their permanent adoptive family​.
