Approved Application
- GDHS will typically contact you within 24–48 hours to schedule a visit to the shelter. This visit allows us to get to know you and help find the best possible match. If it’s a good fit, you may have the opportunity to complete the adoption and bring your new cat home the same day. If a match is not found, your approved application will remain on file for three months.
Denied Application
- If your application is not approved, it does not reflect your ability as a pet owner. Reasons for denial may include concerns regarding veterinary history, including lack of routine vaccinations or annual wellness care for current or previous pets. The Gananoque & District Humane Society reserves the right to decline any application and is not obligated to provide a reason
